LVSC TRAINING PROGRAMME NOW IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HAPPY COMPUTERS TO BENEFIT SECTOR

London Voluntary Service Council (LVSC) is delighted to announce that it will be working in partnership with Happy Ltd to safeguard its popular training programme for the voluntary and community sector as of today.

The London Voluntary Service Council (LVSC) is delighted to announce that it will be working in partnership with Happy Ltd to safeguard its popular training programme for the voluntary and community sector as of today.

Paid staff and volunteers working within charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises can continue to benefit from LVSC’s management and personal development training, which was at risk of closure as it had been making a significant loss over a number of years.

The exciting partnership deal means that:

    • course prices will remain at their current low levels
    • voluntary sector focus and relevance will be maintained
    • the programme will be enhanced to better meet the changing needs of the sector
    • the learning experience and programme quality will match Happy’s successful model

Peter Lewis, Chief Executive of LVSC says “This is a very exciting partnership for LVSC and for the sector. It means greater investment in the training programme and will enable us to offer voluntary and community sector organisations a better quality, and more extensive, programme at the same affordable price – all tailored to the needs of the sector. Happy bring with them a strong history of working with the sector and have an unmatched reputation for the quality of the training programmes they provide.”

Henry Stewart, Chief Executive of Happy Ltd says, “I am delighted to enter into this partnership agreement with LVSC during their centenary year. My very first training as a freelancer, 22 years ago, was for LVSC and a commitment to the voluntary sector has been at the core of the training Happy Computers has provided in the two decades since then. Happy expanded into management and development training some years ago and this is a very natural progression. We look forward to developing LVSC’s very successful model and help create truly great workplaces throughout the sector.”

The programme covers both LVSC’s short course programme and its popular in-house provision. LVSC is committed to developing the skills of staff and the performance of organisations within the voluntary and community sector.

Two Special August Offers from Happy

To celebrate the launch of this partnership, Happy is giving two very special offers from Happy Computers, its IT training division, to LVSC’s core clients – charities and voluntary sector organisations with 30 or less staff.

1) Half Price on all IT Training Courses in August

For charities with 30 or less staff, book any course on the August programme and get it at half the listed charity price. So a one day Excel Essentials course (£220 to private companies) will be just £70 + VAT. (Larger charities are also welcome to book. For you the extra discount will be 25%.)

Ring 020 7375 7300 or click through to www.happy.co.uk/courses  for course details. Quote “LVSC offer” when you talk to Happy.

2) Free day of IT support in August

Happy is offering to send a trainer to your site, for free, to help you with your IT. The ideal project is one where trainers can use and develop their skills, while helping you. Do you need to build or develop a database or a web site, or spreadsheet - to meet your needs? Happy are not looking for formal training ideas but would be interested in more informal ones, where they visit people at their desks and help them sort their problems.

To apply, simply visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DBPTHMG

Happy won't be able to meet all needs, but they plan to work with at least 20 charities in August.
